The sea is one of the calmest things to color. These ocean coloring pages for adults bring an octopus, a sea turtle, a coral reef and a beach hut — each one hidden in a field of numbered dots on black paper.
Follow the color key dot by dot and the picture rises like something surfacing from deep water.
How these ocean color by number pages work
Every dot carries a small symbol. The color key tells you which color belongs to it — the same 24-color key across the whole series, so one set of pencils is enough for every page.
The black areas are already printed. You only fill the light dots, one at a time. There is no wrong order: start in a corner, start in the middle, stop whenever you like.
Blues, teals and corals
Ocean pages live on the cool side of the key: navy, blue, teal and turquoise, with coral and orange as the bright accents. Sort those pencils first.
Color the bright accents early — a few coral dots on black paper show you the shape long before the blues are done.

The best pencils for black paper

Colored pencils. The safest choice: they never bleed through, layer nicely and keep every small dot clean.
Markers. The boldest dots. Alcohol markers can soak through any paper — always slip a spare sheet behind the page you are coloring.
Gel pens and colored pens. Bright, smooth and precise in small dots. Let each dot dry for a second before your hand moves over it.
