Privacy Policy – Der Die Das (Chrome extension)

In short: the extension collects no personal data. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics. Your progress is stored only in your own browser and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

What is stored – and where

To show your streak and repeat the words you got wrong, the extension saves the following locally in your browser (Chrome's extension storage):

• your answers per word and the date you practised (streak, spaced repetition),
• your settings (word level, topic, reminder time, pronunciation on/off, look-up on/off).

This data never leaves your device. Removing the extension deletes it.

Web pages

The extension reads the text of a web page only when you ask it to:

• Right-click look-up: only the word or link you right-clicked, on the current tab.
• Colour articles: the text of the current page, after you click the button.
• Look-up by double-click or Shift + hover (optional): only after you switch it on and Chrome asks for your permission. The extension then checks the word under your mouse pointer. You can switch it off and revoke the permission at any time.

All of this happens inside your browser. Page content is not stored and not transmitted.

Pronunciation and search

Pronunciation uses your browser's built-in speech output. The search box on the new tab page sends your search to the search engine you have chosen in Chrome – exactly as the normal new tab page does.

Purchases and licence check

Premium is sold through Payhip, which handles checkout, payment and the delivery of your licence key. We receive only what is needed for the order (e-mail address and order details); we never see your card details. Payhip's privacy policy applies: payhip.com/privacy.

When you enter your licence key – and about every two weeks afterwards – the extension sends only the key to colorbynumberdots.com/djk/lizenz.php, which asks Payhip whether it is valid. Nothing else is sent, and the key is not stored there. As with any web request, the server briefly logs technical data (IP address, time) in its access log.

No sale or sharing

We do not sell, rent or share any data. We use no advertising, no cookies and no third-party analytics.
